Glo is a modern rock band from Montreal, Canada formed in 2001.[1] They consist of Rick (vocals), Eddie (guitar, bass, keys), and Patrick (drums). Glo first came onto the Montreal music scene soon after the start of the new millennia.
Their self-titled debut received favorable reviews and spawned the single ‘Wither’ which appeared on the soundtrack for the TV series Higher Ground.[2] Soon after the release of Glo, they were invited to perform at NXNE in Toronto, Canada and the ‘In the City’ music festival in Manchester, England.[1]
After taking a brief hiatus to refuel the creative juices, Glo released their highly anticipated follow up ‘Off to the Races Vol. 1’, in early 2007. The energetic EP marked an exciting departure for the modern rock band. Soon after its release, the new material began getting regular airplay in stations across Canada. On the strength of the infectious songs and their strong live shows, Glo decided to released a new album, On the Outside, in 2010 through GloMusicGroup. The album was mixed in L.A. by Paul Lani, whose credits include U2, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Megadeth.
The first single off of the new disc, "Move Along", stayed on the Canadian Active Rock charts for 12 weeks, peaking at number 41.
"Off to the Races Vol. 1" was named Best Provincial Rock EP and the single "Off to the Races" was named Best Provincial Rock Song in the 2007 Toronto Exclusive Magazine Awards.[3]
Nominated as the Best out of Province Rock Band at the 2007 Toronto Independent Music Awards.[4]
Their songs "Dopamine" and "Drown in Me" were included on the soundtrack to the motion picture The Power of Attorney.[2]
